University of San Diego Graduate Awarded Fulbright Scholarship

Katherine Quin of Fredericksburg, who will graduate on May 28 from the University of San Diego, was awarded a prestigious Fulbright Scholarship.

Quinn will be teaching English in Malaysia and serving as a cultural ambassador there. Quinn, who hopes to become a foreign service officer in the U.S. State Department said she is "ecstatic" to be chosen. "I can't wait for the challenges and adventures that lie ahead."

Quinn earned a bachelor's degree in economics.

The Fulbright Award is the largest U.S. cultural exchange program offering opportunities for highly qualified students and young professionals to undertake research projects or teach English abroad.
