Stephanie Harrison of Las Vegas Selected for Mortar Board at University of San Diego

Stephanie Harrison, a student at the University of San Diego, was selected for Mortar Board, a national honor society recognizing students for outstanding achievement in scholarship, leadership, and service.

Harrison of Las Vegas, is an electrical engineering major with minors in mathematics and physics. Harrison expects to graduate in 2015.

Harrison has received first and second honors and is a recipient of both an Alcala Scholarship and a National Science Foundation Scholarship. She volunteers as a preceptorial assistant and frequently visits Nazareth House, an assisted living community for seniors in San Diego. She plans to either attend graduate school or enter the workforce.

Mortar Board, founded in 1918, has more than 200 chapters across the country and chartered on the USD campus in the fall of 2000. After students are selected, they continue to serve the University and community through special projects.
