Alexandra Hafer of Chesapeake, VA Selected as a Prestigious Fulbright Scholar

Alexandra Hafer, a University of San Diego senior from Chesapeake, VA, VA, has been accepted into the prestigious Fulbright Scholars program. The Fulbright Scholars program is the largest U.S. educational exchange program, offering over 1,000 opportunities each year for individual study, research or teaching abroad. Alexandra has been invited to spend a year teaching and learning in Germany.

"Students who are selected into the Fulbright Scholars program are academically successful, have demonstrated leadership on campus or in the community, and have been involved in community service," said USD Professor James Gump, USD's Fulbright Student Program advisor. "Fulbright student are also adaptable and well-rounded," added Gump.

The Fulbright Scholars program offers participants with invaluable opportunities to meet and work with people of the home country, sharing daily life as well as professional and creative insights. The program promotes cross-cultural interaction and mutual understanding on a person-to-person basis in an atmosphere of openness, academic integrity, and intellectual freedom.
