Alexander Rollins Participates in University of San Diego's Final Four Men's Rugby Club Team

Alexander Rollins of Campbell is a member of the University of San Diego men's rugby club team that won the Northeast Regional April 26 - 27 at Penn State University to earn a spot in the Division I-AA Final Four of the USA Rugby College National Championship Series that will be played at Stanford University May 10 and 11.

USD will face Central Florida, the 2013 DI-AA National Champion, at 7:00 p.m. on May 10. The other semifinal pits the University of Arizona against Bowling Green University.

On April 26, USD, one of two teams to earn an at-large bid into the 16-team playoffs, defeated Brown University with a final score of 55 to 28, and in the Elite Eight downed West Virginia 34 to 14.

This season, under the direction of head coach Andrew Castle, USD completed its first-ever undefeated league season by going 7-0 in the Pacific Golf Coast Rugby Conference. Following that, San Diego hosted the regional playoff qualifier, downing Santa Barbara City College before falling to Long Beach State University. Their strong season earned them the at-large spot into the Northeast Regional.
